•Google Earth: “Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings and even explore galaxies in the Sky. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places and share with others. “ Google Earth is also available for the iPod Touch and iPhone and takes advantage of the GPS features within these devices. http://earth.google.com/
•Jing: The video tutorials were produced using Jing. “The concept of Jing is the always-ready program that instantly captures and shares images and video…from your computer to anywhere.” http://www.jingproject.com/
•Download Helper: This software allows you to download video from sites like youtube.com. That’s helpful to do if you have a slow connection or a firewall in your classroom to block access to video sharing sites. If there is a firewall, download the video at home and save it to a thumb drive or other media, then bring it in to school. Download Helper also allows you to save videos in different file formats. http://www.downloadhelper.net/
•Firefox: This browser allows for customization in too many ways to mention. http://www.mozilla.com/

•imageJ: ImageJ is software for analyzing images. It allows you to do things like easily and quickly measure the area of a lake if the scale of the image is known. “ImageJ is a public domain Java image processing program inspired by NIH Image for the Macintosh. It runs, either as an online applet or as a downloadable application, on any computer with a Java 1.4 or later virtual machine. Downloadable distributions are available for Windows, Mac OS, Mac OS X and Linux.”
